The new Waksman Genomics Laboratory provides next-generation DNA sequencing services on the Applied Biosystems SOLiD platform to the greater Rutgers University research community. The SOLiD Genome Analyzer performs massively parallel DNA sequencing by oligonucleotide ligation and detection on unique molecular arrays of DNA fragments to produce 6 to 20 gigabases of sequence data per run. Applications include whole genome resequencing, mutational profling, chromatin immunoprecipitation-sequencing, microbial de novo sequencing, digital karyotyping, medical sequencing, genotyping, gene expression analysis, and small RNA discovery, among many others.
